While the majority of rePurpose Global’s clients were based in the US and Europe, the organisations we worked with to fight the plastic crisis were based in countries like India, Indonesia, Colombia, and Kenya.

The reason for this is that while the West is arguably the biggest contributor of plastic waste in the world, they export a majority of that waste to so-called third-world nations, which are ill-equipped to handle that waste, and most definitely underfunded in their efforts.

This was at the core of rePurpose Global’s model — holding those responsible for the waste crisis accountable.

These videos tell the stories of those brave souls on the frontlines of this epic battle, as they fight against insurmountable odds to tackle this crisis.

Given that these shoots had to be organised at multiple locations, often across multiple teams in different continents, the logistics challenge itself was daunting. But thanks to our teams on the ground, and the impact partners themselves, the shoots and edits were (almost always!) effortless, and we nailed them the first time around.
